Migration checklist

Migrate WordPress from cPanel

Skip fragile full-account ZIPs. Use backup-based migration, validate on the new host, then cut DNS — details on the full cPanel migration page.

Checklist

  1. Link the cPanel WordPress site in SiteSkite and take an on-demand backup.
  2. Prepare destination WordPress on the new host and install the SiteSkite connector.
  3. Restore from backup to the destination and validate key pages in Sandbox or staging.
  4. Lower DNS TTL ahead of cutover, then switch DNS when checks pass.
  5. Keep the old cPanel account until post-cutover validation is complete.
